Being nicely played December 6, 2009

Your were real, therefore you didn’t believe what people around you kept telling you. They were trying to pull you out of your disillusion and you didn’t know why.
One morning you wake up and realize it wasn’t a fairy tale. That all was a big joke. That you needed to be a part of the play so they can perform like actors.
Then, when nothing can hurt anymore, you decide to open your eyes. Now you can clearly see. “How could I be so blind?” you ask yourself. Words and actions start to make sense and then… you know… you’ve been nicely played. The good part of it is that you don’t regret them anymore. What you regret is not opening your eyes earlier.

Ms. Right & Mr. Right December 4, 2009

Ms. Right: I am thinking sometimes about you, lately seems like it’s almost everyday. I am wondering if you are a friend of mine or if I’ve ever met you.

Mr. Right: I was thinking about you last night, when I couldn’t fall asleep. I was wondering about the same thing.

Ms. Right: Tonight it would have been great to walk and talk to you, to tell you about my fears and feelings; to know that no matter what I would say or feel, you have my back.

Mr. Right: I’m not perfect either, but protecting you will be my job.

Ms. Right: I wonder if I’ll be good enough for you…

Mr. Right: You will be perfect for me.

Ms. Right: Sometimes I’m wondering if there is such thing as love. They say that you know it when you come across that person, when you look into her eyes, and see something you’ve never seen before.

Mr. Right: When you feel like there’s a force that keeps you starring like a fool;when looking into his eyes will be living in another world;a world superior to this.

Ms. Right: That’s when time will stop, only for us.

Mr. Right: I wonder if I have what it takes to make you happy. If I have enough to make the world a better place for you.

Ms. Right: Just being with you will make me happy, nothing else could ever make my heart beat faster or my checks flush.  It won’t be about what you have but who you have in your life  that can make all the difference.

Mr. Right:  I may not have enough money to buy you the necklace that matches your sparkling eyes.

Ms. Right: But I will have your love that will make my eyes sparkle.

Mr. Right: I may not have the coolest car of the year.

Ms. Right: If you’d be willing to walk with me, that will be enough.

Mr. Right: What is it that will make you so happy when you will be with me?

Ms. Right: The freedom of being myself, even if that is a child at times. That look in your eyes when you will watch me;the warmth in your voice that will be like music to my ears. The feeling of being  safe in your arms…  What about you?

Mr. Right: Making you happy will give me a chance for happiness. Seeing you happy will give me satisfaction.

Ms. Right: You sound too good to be true.

Mr. Right: You sound the same to me.

Ms. Right: I cannot wait to meet you!

Mr. Right: Maybe you already have!
dsd
Ms. Right: Promise me…

Mr. Right: Anything.

Ms. Right: …that when you find me, you will never let me go.

Mr. Right: That can go without a promise, but I do, I promise you!

Are you looking for validation? December 2, 2009

Isn’t it interesting how an encouraging, kind word can make your day? When a good word is slipped through someone’s lips it really can brighten your day, and give you  a push in whatever area needed.

The Bible says that we are to speak words that will build, not destroy. People are hungry to hear that they are appreciated, loved and wanted.

-”You know, I was thinking, maybe I’m not the best at what I’m doing. Maybe I should look into something else, even though,I’ve always dreamed of photography.”
-”Man,you are like the best photographer ever!”
-”Really? Do you think so?”
-”Yeah,I really do. I can see the you are so passionate and you really enjoy doing it. This world needs passionate people that would love what they’re doing. By that, they create a better world.”
-”Yeah,you’re right. I do love what I’m doing and I can’t see myself elsewhere but creating art for the world. It is my second nature. It’s who I am. Thanks man, I appreciate the advice. You’re awesome!”

You will be judged by the way you treat your neighbor, and by that I mean everyone, even your biggest enemy. Are you going to be nice and classy or will you pass by careless and ignorant?

Your words may help someone believe in their talents, gifts or in themselves.Do you remember how courageous you were when your mom told you you can do everything and anything because you have the potential to do so? Remember how you felt when your friend said that you can do it if you believe in yourself?

Well, today is your chance to do that too. People will thank you later.

Happy National Day to all the Romanians in the world! November 30, 2009

The year 1918 is a moment of maximum importance in the Romanian history through the achievement of the greatest dream of the Romanians: TO UNITE, a process achieved in 3 steps:
1-The Basarabian step
The unification of the territory between Prut, Nistru and the Black Sea with The Romanian Kingdom and it was realized in 27th March 1918.
2-The Bucovinean step
On 28th of November,at Cernauti,The General Congress of Bucovina, had a session which approved the decision to unite willingly with Romania.
3-The Transilvanian step
On the 1st December 1918,1228 people from 80 cities and 5000 villages met at Alba Iulia and voted the Declaration of Unification. Then the delegates went to Campul lui Horea where 1000 Romanians were waiting to announce the great act that was achieved on that day.

The country that was born on December 1st 1918, holding all the historical territories, is known by the name of Romania Mare (The Great Romania).

The National Day of Romania is celebrated with festivals and parades. The Romanian national anthem “De steapta-te, romane!” is sung. It means “Romanians, fight for your rights!”.

Hora Unirii (The Unity Hora (dance) ) sung and danced on this occasion is a Romanian folk tune of a slow but energetic round dance joined by the whole attendance. The round dance (hora) symbolizes spiritual communion, equality and the wish for a common life.

Hora Unirii

Hai sa dam mâna cu mâna

Cei cu inima româna,

Sa-nvârtim hora fratiei

Pe pamântul României!

Iarba rea din holde piara!
Piara dusmania-n tara!
Între noi sa nu mai fie
Decât flori si omenie!

Mai muntene, mai vecine,
Vina sa te prinzi cu mine
Si la viata cu unire,
Si la moarte cu-nfratire!

Unde-i unul, nu-i putere
La nevoi si la durere.
Unde-s doi, puterea creste
Si dusmanul nu sporeste!

Amândoi suntem de-o mama,
De-o faptura si de-o seama,
Ca doi brazi într-o tulpina,
Ca doi ochi într-o lumina.

Amândoi avem un nume,
Amândoi o soarta-n lume.
Eu ti-s frate, tu mi-esti frate,
În noi doi un suflet bate!

Vin’ la Milcov cu grabire
Sa-1 secam dintr-o sorbire,
Ca sa treaca drumul mare
Peste-a noastre vechi hotare,

Si sa vada sfântul soare
Într-o zi de sarbatoare
Hora noastra cea frateasca
Pe câmpia româneasca!

The cactus and the caterpillar November 30, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — avramizza @ 8:35 pm

Once there was a man who asked God for a flower….
….and a butterfly.
But instead God gave him a cactus….
….and a caterpillar.
The man was sad, he didn’t understand why his request was mistaken.
Then he thought: “Oh well, God has too many people to care for”… And decided not to question. After some time, the man went to check up on his request that he had left forgotten.
To his surprise, from the thorny & ugly cactus a beautiful flower had grown. And the unsightly carterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.odjf
GOD always does things right! His way is ALWAYS the best way, even if to us it seems all wrong. If you asked God for one thing & received another, TRUST. You can be sure that He will always give you what you need at the appropriate time.
What you want… ….is not always what you need! God never fails to grant our petitions, so keep on going for Him without doubting or murmuring. Today’s THORN… Is tomorrow’s FLOWER!

The ABC of growing up November 28, 2009

“Time heals everything” they say.

Today is the day you hoped it would never come. A decision must be done, and you know, more than anything else, that it will change your life. You’re at the point where playing hide-and-seek is not an option. The finger is too thin to cover you. Or,if you must, kid yourself, hiding your head in the clay like an ostrich. The fear of pain is worse than the pain itself.

Today is the day when you hear the drums. You look at the watch, it’s time to go. It’s the time to leave behind the so known streets of your second nature and embark on the ship that will take you to mysterious places. See what life has in store for you.  But you’re realistic, you know that in order to achieve your dreams, you have to climb the mountains of courage and pain. And you’re afraid no more.

Today you realized that time didn’t wait for you to make a decision, but went by, to show you that he doesn’t forgive anyone. So you stand up, leave behind what kept you paralyzed for so long.

You take the first step,it hurts. The pain strikes in your heart, feels like a heavy burden.

The second step seems to adjust to the pain. “Pain is good”, you say, “it reminds me I’m alive”.

Third step it’s not as bad as you thought; the faith keeps you going.  It becomes a walk, then, without even knowing how you’ve got there, you start running.

For a second, you let the pain back in, as soon as it gets back on its place you stumble and hurt yourself. Then pick yourself up and decide to ignore the pain.

You start running again, it feels good, nothing holds you back. It seems like you’re dreaming as you leave the boulevard of the broken dreams. You keep running when you hit the path that takes you to the peak of the mountain. The road may get bumpy and sometimes climbing on the rocks and pushing away the obstacles is challenging. But you’re determined. You walk, you hike, you crawl. Soon you will be at the place where the Heavens meet the Earth.  Soon it will all be worth it. You are free. You are a grown up standing on the top of the mountain.

“Growing up is never easy. You hold on to things that were. You wonder what’s to come. But that night, I think we knew it was time to let go of what had been, and look ahead to what would be. Other days. New days. Days to come. The thing is, we didn’t have to hate each other for getting older. We just had to forgive ourselves… for growing up.” The Wonder Years

It’s Friday. People call it the “Black Friday” due to the shopping fever. If you went shopping today, you probably realized that you could “save” a lot of money. You could always add a new outfit to your wardrobe, upgrade your laptop or your cellphone. “If i only had that or that I would have been happy.” Really? How many times have you said that before? There’s always newer and better things coming out every day. Do you really think material things would make you happier? Statistics say that people were happier 50 years ago. Statistics say that Mexico and Puerto Rico are the happiest countries. What do you have in mind when you think of them? Honestly? I see clay houses and needy people, children that could use some water to wash their small figures, and basic food. Why is it that they are happier than us, who thank God, have undeservingly more than them?
They are happy to know that they have the necessary food for the day, unlike us who want newer cars and bigger closets. At the end of the day, those people, even if their stomach wasn’t full, would turn on the radio and start dancing, for the life is short and it should be danced away.
Those people speak the same language, the compassion. When a neighbor has a chore to get done, they all gather to help, then again, end the day in dancing in laughter, even though ribs or stake weren’t served, but tea and tortillas, if they were lucky.
If you have a laptop, a car, or a college education, you’re richer than 99% of the population of the world.
Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day. I realized I have so much to be thankful for: family-while others are alone in this world;friends-while others don’t have anyone to tell their burdens or joys to;a job-while others are trowed out of their houses because can’t afford paying it off; a car-while others miss the bus that takes them to work or school;a computer-while others do their important essays on a piece of paper; health-while others are told that cancer is terminal; freedom through the redeeming blood of Christ while others are bounded by past and mistakes.
Are you grateful in your circumstances?
Today I’m grateful even for the times when I was sad and unhappy, because they made me who I am today.

Career: Dream or Nightmare? November 25, 2009

work

You meet a new friend. Very exciting. He or she says where they come from, their background, religion , likes and dislikes. But then comes a very important question: “What do you do for a living?”

Now you may or may not be impressed with their career. He may be a doctor, she may be a hairstylist.  Why is it that once we know more about a person we tend to be more  or less interested in their person? Is it the lifestyle, the mystery or the ranks of a career?

Don’t we need hairstylists, writers, plumbers or mechanics as much as we would need a doctor or a designer? Yes and No. I go to the salon or car shop more than I go to the doctor, because thank God, I’m healthy and don’t need a doctor. I also prefer reading a  good book instead of starring at a painting for hours, even though I do appreciate a good painting on the wall.

What do you choose for yourself? Something you and other people think would best fit your personality and make you a wealthy, successful person? Or you choose to pursue your dreams, the God given talents?

No wonder you hear so often: “I hate my job.”,”I’m so miserable.”,” All we talk at work is how much we hate our jobs or this company.” I would hate to do something I’m miserable doing for the rest of my life. I’m sure you’d hate it just as much. And why make other people unhappy too? You wouldn’t like a haircut done by a woman who hates hair or scissors. You wouldn’t want to go to a doctor who can’t stand blood or pain. And last but not least, you won’t like to talk to a representative of a certain company who hates people.

Let’s put it this way. What makes you happy? What do you do when you come alive, when your heart starts to beat faster and seems like time stops? What do you waste your time on?  What is that you’re really good at and get complimented for?

Well that little thing may just be your talent. That could get you really far in life because great thing are created by passionate people.

Everyone has dreams. Some of becoming a star athlete, actor or model.
We all have dreams yet few of us actually do what it takes to make them come true. Walt Disney had a dream to create a place that would be “a source of joy and inspiration to all the world,” and he had the courage to go out and actually build Disneyland in 1955. Do you think he believed that he would achieve such greatness at the time? Probably not, but he did dream big and act upon his desires.

If you’re going to dream, you might as well dream big. You should envision a life in which you have all of the things that you truly want to make you happy.

The problem most people have is not dreaming big, but rather believing in themselves and having the courage to pursue what they really want to get out of life. Too often, when faced with the slightest resistance, people give up and settle for something less than they want or deserve. As a result, dreams fade and motivation to do, or achieve, more in life is converted into apathy and discontent.

People may display moments of courage or bravery throughout their life when faced with adversity, but having the courage to relentlessly pursue your dreams is what it meant by living a courageous life. Your dreams can come true, if you just have the courage to pursue them. Stop making excuses and DREAM BIG!

God does enjoy seeing the people He created pursuing the dreams he planted in their hearts, because “every second of pursuing your dream, is a second of encounter with God and with Eternity”.  Paulo Coelho

Is it too late for you? It’s never too late!

Choose to be happy.Today. November 19, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — avramizza @ 1:07 pm

happy

Happiness is a choice.
When you get up in the morning, you can choose to be happy and enjoy that day,or you can choose to be unhappy and go around with a sour attitude. It’s up to you. If you make the mistake of allowing your circumstances to dictate your happiness, then you risk on missing out on God’s abundant life.
You may be going through rough times,or you may have major obstacles on your path, all of which give you reason to be unhappy or upset.
Being negative and sour atiitude isn’t going to improve anything either. You might as well choose to be happy and enjoy your life! When you do that, not only will you feel better, but your faith will cause God to show up and work wonders in your life. God knows that we have difficulties, struggles and challenges. But it was never His intention to live one day “on cloud nine”,and the next day down in the dumps, defeated and depressed because we have problems.God wants us to live consistently. He wants us to enjoy every single day of our lives.
To do so you must stop fretting about about the future. Quit worrying about how everything is going to turn out. Live one day at a time, better yet, make the most of this moment. It’s good to have a big picture outlook,to set goals,to establish budgets and make plans, but if you’re always living in the future, you’re never really enjoying the present in the way God wants us to.
When we focus too much on the future,we are often frustrated because we don’t know what’s coming. Naturally, the uncertainty increases our stress level and creates a sense of insecurity. We need to understand, though, that God has given us the grace to live today. He has not given us tomorrow’s grace. When we get to tomorrow we’ll have the strenght to make it through. God will give us what we need. But if we’re worried about tomorrow right now,we are bound to be frustrated and discouraged.Happiness is decision to make, not an emotion to feel. Happiness is a state of mind.
The Bible says that we are like mist,a vapor;we’re here for a moment, then we’re gone. Life is flying by,so don’t waste another moment of your precious time being angry, unhappy or worried. The psalmist said:
“This is the day the Lord has made.I will rejoice and be glad in it.” This is the day that God wants you to be happy.

“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.” — Anne Frank
